Monday . . .
Just wanted to say howdy to everyone. The kids and me returned early evening Sunday from a business/recreational getaway. Unfortunately, there are times when there is no choice but to mix business with family recreation. Since the business aspects only consumed a few hours on Saturday, it wasn’t too bad overall. As they say, “You gotta do what you gotta do!”
It’s that early afternoon Monday blues again with the transition of them returning to their Mom. This day is particularly hard with the deafening quiet of silence from the void of their presence. Yet, it continues to get better for me with each evolution.
Nothing profound or really exciting is going on except for daily living. We be just trying to seize every moment and living it fully with expressive intent.
By-the-way, I was recently read the riot act by the kids for not having made the time to buy myself some new t-shirts. I finally took care of the boxers earlier because when you discover all the ones with holes had been hidden in the trash, you have no choice but to purchase new ones when you only have two pair of decent drawers to your name. LOL!
We’ll see you when we see you!

President’s Day . . .
The kids have no school and we have been cooped up for three days because I have been ill. Must’ve caught the same thing my youngest had from earlier in the week. With my fever now broke (thank goodness) and feeling somewhat better, we’re going to spend the day out running around and just being goofy. Who knows what we will do today? We’ll just let it things happen as they happen. Enjoy the day.

A Quiet Valentine’s Day . . .
Today was a quiet day. Though it was not devoted to the typical expressions of love between a man and a woman, it was nevertheless embraced with love and devotion of a parent as the time was spent with my children. An enjoyable dinner followed with a daddy baked chocolate cake and smooth creamy vanilla ice cream. A grand day overall.
As we continued our reading of Harry Potter, we listened to Andrea Bocelli. I love opera (few know this) and my children are just beginning to develop some level of appreciation. The following selection was one that captivated their attention to the point where they listened to it three consecutive times. On this day of love, I offer the following musical selection and a quote from the Naked Soul.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
Per Amore by Andrea Bocelli
Note: Disable the SongSpot at the bottom of the sidebar before listening.
Embrace and love your journey, even when that journey does not lead you to what you thought it would. There are reasons for everything, for every curve in the road, for every climb up the hill and for every moment spent in the deep dark valleys of life.

A Monday Thought Part II . . .
I had something else to offer on my previous thought for Monday but it just seemed to have left the building with Elvis as soon as the editor popped up here. This is annoying as hell. I knew damn well I should have written it down instead of trying to remember.
Oh well! It’s time for me to go find a new coil for the still. If I remember what I was going to write I’ll post it later. For the moment this will have to do. It’s almost like waking in the morning and remembering you forgot to wash your clothes because you have no clean dress socks. So you put on a dirty pair and go about your business. Kinda sorta like writing this particular post. I know it doesn’t make any sense.

A Monday Thought . . .
While driving this afternoon I passed a building with a small marquis sign in front with the following message posted “Love More; Regret Less!” For some reason this struck me as sound counsel but after thinking about it for a spell it started driving me a little nuts considering the duality of this thought. Is it saying we need to love more and not dwell on our regrets (if any) or does it mean the less regrets we have the more capacity we have to love? Dunno . . .
There seems to be fallacy in this line of reasoning which I can’t put my finger on. Perhaps I’m just missing the boat entirely which I often do at times. This will require some further consideration and a possible topic for a post at my main haunt. Then again, maybe not.
As I close out this shorty I was reminded while talking to a friend today which I haven’t spoken to in a month of Sundays, about the difference between being tough and being hardened. It’s OK to be tough but hardened ain’t so good. Maybe this will be included with the above post since there are some parallels to the marquis message as far as my line of thinking is concerned.
Walk safely this week and enjoy your time because we only have one go around!

Super Boxl XLII 2nd Half . . .
Well I have to say the 2nd half was certainly more interesting than listening to and watching the clouds roll by. I think New England lost because I ran out of beer.
I generally favor the underdog in most games and championship events except for this one. You see, I always pull for whatever team that may be playing against a New York franchise. It matters not whether it is baseball, football, hockey, or even basketball because I will always cheer against New York. Though it was not my desired outcome for this Super Bowl Championship, you have to tip your hat to Coach Coughlin and the team led my Eli Manning. What a great 2nd half and exciting play action. It could’ve gone either way.
On this day the better team won.
Congratulations to the New York Giants and their fans.

Sunday Morning . . .
Have you ever had a recurring dream but can’t remember what the hell the dream was about, yet you know you are dreaming the same dream? For whatever reason I just can’t seem to recall the details. Well, it’s time for my second-cup o’ cawffee and get my backside going to hit the day head-on. Have laundry to do, cleaning, and after all that is said and done I’m going canoeing later this afternoon. Afterwards I’m going to get some wings & beer and sit down to watch the Super Bowl. I was invited to attend several parties to bear witness to New England whipping New York’s ass but I decided to enjoy the game in solitude. Maybe I’ll change my mind about the solitude thing. Maybe, definitely, perhaps.

January is gone!
Can you believe 1/12 of the year has already elapsed? Damn! Where in the hell does the time go. Aside from all that crap on the time space continuum it’s 1530 hours and my day has come to a close regarding normal work. Time for some personal errands and to get the H3 cleaned up real good. I don’t think I’ll buy another black vehicle unless it happens to be an Aston Martin!
Without paying too much attention to non-priority areas this week, I have allowed myself to accumulate several coffee cups, a few beer cans, gym bags, basketballs, soccer balls, and a whole lot of other stuff you don’t want to know about within the interior of my ride. After getting this thing cleaned up real good like and after returning home from a gathering with friends this evening, it will be time to sit down and work on this new business venture. The iron has been in the fire for a bit so it’s time to stoke the flames and get it going so I can start hammering it out sometime within the next few weeks. Enjoy your weekend.
As I close please remember to “Drink In Life; And Soar!”
I have to remember where I read that.
